The
Kagyu Tekchen Choling
is the first Dharma Center
of Vajrayana Buddhism, founded
in 1983 in Argentina, from
the Karma Kagyu and Shangpa
Kagyu Lineages. Under the
blessing of the XVI Gyalwang
Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpei
Dorje, and the spiritual
authority of Dorje Chang
Kalu Rinpoche. Since his
parinirvana, the Dharma
Center is under the guidance
of Dorje Chang Bokar Rinpoche
and His Eminence Yangsi
Kalu Rinpoche.
Resident
Lamas

Since 1992 the directors
of the KTC are Lama Sangye
Dorje and Lama Rinchen Kandro,
born in Argentina, close
disciples of Bokar Rinpoche,
who appointed them to direct
the Kagyu Dharma Centers
in Argentina. They did the
traditional three years
retreat in Kagyu Ling, France.

Regular
visits of Great Lamas
The KTC received the visits
of renowned Lamas as Yangsi
Kalu Rinpoche, Bokar Rinpoche,
Khenpo Donyo Rinpoche, Thrangu
Rinpoche, Khenpo Tsultrim
Gyamtso Rinpoche, and in
particular the three visits
of H.H. the Dalai Lama.
The
Dharma Center
The
Dharma Center in the city
offers through the year
a weekly practice schedule
that includes shine meditation,
vajrayana sadhanas, Kalu
Rinpoche’s tibetan
yoga, the study of tibetan
language, introductory and
advanced courses based on
the traditional instructions
of the Great Buddhist Masters.
There are also short retreats,
with instructions and practices
of different meditations.
The
Retreat Center
In
2000 we inaugurated the
Retreat Center, Kagyu Pende
Gyamtso Ling, Island of
Oral Teachings, Ocean of
Benefit and Bliss, at the
countryside, 100 km from
Buenos Aires city. Bokar
Rinpoche deeply encouraged
this undertaking, and H.H.
the XVII Gyalwang Karmapa,
Orgyen Trinley Dorje, personally
gave us his blessing and
support. Since then, the
resident Lamas and members
are realizing retreats and
celebrations, as well as
special events with renowned
Lamas that visit us.
In
2003, for the 20th anniversary
of the Kagyu Tekchen Choling,
we built the Changchub Chorten,
the Stupa of Enlightenment.
And in 2007, the Yendum
Chorten, the Stupa of Harmony.
We hope to built the eight
kinds of stupas that commemorate
the special events of Buddha
Sakyamuni’s life.
The main goal is to establish
an indestructible connection
with the wisdom and compassion
of Buddha’s Mind,
and to generate a spot of
peace, happiness, spiritual
and temporal development
for the people of our country
and all the world.
In 2006, a little group
of practitioners accomplished
the first traditional three
years retreat of the Shangpa
Kagyu Lineage, the first
one in Latin America. Since
then some close students
are doing short retreats.
We hope that this Retreat
Center will be of great
benefit for the practitioners
of our country and South
America.
